2 Silver medals @ British Open
Well done to Mike Royle and Michelle Crocker as they came home with Silver medals from the British International Taekwondo Championships in Manchester. The event has attracted over 300 fighters from 22 countries including Korea.

Central Academy had five players on the Scottish National Team competing at the 1st British Open in Manchester 1st and 2nd November.
The event attracted teams from 27 countries including top Taekwondo nations Korea and Iran.
The Central team put in a superb performance and achieved no less than four medals. |

Belgian Open Technical Championships 2008 |

On 11/10/08 a small team from the UTA competed at this prestigious ETU ‘A’ class event. The Manchester team consisted of Master Shin, Angela Broadbent, Alex Tse and Tom Barwick. Master Peter Johnson came from Stoke on Trent, Chan Sau from Halton Taekwondo, and finally Constantino Cesar and Alison Ellerton from Milton Keynes.

Taekwondo Olympians Set To Challenge For Britain’s First Ever BTCB International Open |
|
Manchester is set to welcome taekwondo stars from all over the world as The National Squash Centre plays host to the BTCB’s inaugural British International Open taking place on 1st- 2nd November 2008. In action will be British Olympians Aaron Cook and Michael Harvey who competed in Beijing during August, while Britain’s first ever Olympic taekwondo medallist Sarah Stevenson will also be attending the event in an ambassadorial capacity due to an injury sustained during the games.
Aaron Cook (Scorpion Taekwondo Club, Doncaster) and local teenager Michael Harvey (Aces Taekwondo Club, Manchester) will be making their first competitive starts since returning from Beijing where they placed 4th and 7th respectively. The event, open to both domestic and international athletes, is being supported by UK Sport and Manchester City Council and promises to be one of the sport’s most competitive competitions of the year.
